The Saudi Green Initiative shows promise perhaps. Coal is a heavier fuel and causes toxic air pollution. Natural gas is cheaper and less polluting. Solar and wind power can also add resilience to a power grid. Hydroelectric power is continuous. You sell the utility any excess solar or windmill electrical power you generate from your home or farm. Sweet!

Deforestation is happening where I live, in the coastal rainforest of BC on Southern Vancouver Island. Our ancient trees are being cut down right now. Trees so huge the mind boggles and older than Notre Dame. Forests that are home to rare biodiversity. We will never see their kind again.

It's a legal crime against humanity and ecocide. Protestors are being brutalized by our RCMP, the private security force for Industry.

I'm so sad for the other places in the world who are suffering more greatly. Here it can be stopped but the political will to extract and even BUILD fossil fuel infrastructure is pernicious and aggressive despite the lies and pretty words to the public.

Less Summits, more local, national and international co-operative action, now please!
