Oral History Interview with Lynwood Swanson

This interview is with Lynwoood Swanson. In this interview, Lyn speaks about his upbringing and his experiences throughout college, where he gained an appreciation for chemistry and physics. He talks about his experiences at Linfield, from field research to the Linfield Research Institute to working as the academic dean.

Later in the interview, he goes on to talk about growing the electron microscope company he co-founded, FEI. He then shares the many challenges that came with developing such a successful business.

Lyn finishes the interview sharing more about his family life and personal projects, for example starting a local church in McMinnville.
