this is actually well written and acted. I was fucking invested! xD
ОтветитьThere's a webtoon with this premise
ОтветитьWebtoons app, Death rescheduled they get one free kill/murder a year after they turn 18
ОтветитьReminds me of my brother’s first wife. 😅
ОтветитьI’d be gone probably
ОтветитьThe judge giving her verdict without breaking her line of dialogue while the defendant is screaming and yelling is very accurate to real life. And then the judge will say "do you understand the verdict I have just laid out for you?" as if the person even heard a word they said.
ОтветитьWow really evocative video but still funny and clever! Amazing use of your platform Claire 👏
Ответитьi hate that "he could simply over power her" arguement. Abuse is abuse no matter who is doing it. and while we are on that there have been kids who have murdered their adult guardian. not as self defense, just cause they felt like it. there were kids who kidnapped, tortured, and murdered a little boy. kids can be capable of horrible things.
ОтветитьI love how the first 3 minutes are a debate about abuse and justifiable homicide, followed by a punchline in the last 10 seconds.
ОтветитьThis was not what I was expecting from a meme-ish video, and I'm glad I watched it through
ОтветитьI have the exact same pink blouse!
ОтветитьIf anyone is interested, there is a webtoon called Death: Rescheduled that explores a similar concept (everyone gets one free murder per year)!
Ответитьthis is actually a great concept
ОтветитьI'm the Jarl's Thane. I demand you let me go at once.
ОтветитьDeath: Rescheduled has a plot where everyone does get one free kill a year
ОтветитьI’m confused, he rescued and returned the dog? Isn’t that a good thing? He saved it and brought it into a shelter?
ОтветитьI always like when one person plays several characters but just outfit change😂
ОтветитьHappily 25 years ago. But the evil is a shrunken gollum like thing now.
ОтветитьI tried to think of the mathematical implications of this. At least one person would die without ever getting chance to use theirs. And it was done with a specific pattern, then one person could be remaining.
ОтветитьPaused before watching or reading comments. Um if everyone on earth got to murder one person there would be no one left?! 8 billion souls. 8 billion murders.
ОтветитьI came here for comedy not for brutally honest scathing social commentary.
Ответитьi was so invested in this. amazing social commentary on sexism and corrupt courts
ОтветитьThat is tough….. you would have to be so careful not to waste it. I mean, if you just used your one murder on someone who made you angry in the moment, then it’s a total waste in all respects. It would have to benefit humanity in some way…..
ОтветитьGreat actress!
The person in black hoodie has a similarity to my daughter-in-law.
I want to tho 😅
ОтветитьWhat do you mean "what if"?
This is literally how it works now lol, there is justifiable homicide cases where someone commits murder and is guilty, but sees no punishment due to the circumstances surrounding it
Those two other people infuriate me so much
ОтветитьEveryone going “abuse is abuse no matter who” missing that murdering someone is infact, abuse
ОтветитьThis actually seems so realistic it’s scary
ОтветитьThe title is basically Death:rescheduled in a nutshell
ОтветитьNice skit. Definitely thought provoking!
If you want to see someone diving further into this line of thought, there's a comic up on Webtoon called Death: Rescheduled set in a world where every citizen is legally allowed to kill one person every year.
Yup the libs overruled the person with a brain.
ОтветитьWhile I don't fully agree with the outcome of the first trial I can 100% see where the jurors are coming. Something people don't understand about the law is that its number one goal is to preserve life where ever it can. Even if the sister in law was physically abusive, as long as she wasn't a threat to his life then killing her would likely be out of the question. If the defendant had hit the SiL enough to get her brother to safety then the trial would have probably gone very much in her favour, but the fact that she instead went out of her way to kill the SiL, even after she was beaten enough to no longer be a threat, is where the problem really comes in. Because that level of over the top measures shows that the defendant believes it's okay to go further than you need to if a person you care for is in danger, which makes her a genuine danger to society, because that means that anyone the defendant decides is too dangerous for her brother is no longer safe. The SiL might have been willing to take another life, but the defendant 100% was willing to take another life, which makes the defendant the bigger threat. All that being said tho, 30 years in prison is steep for a once in lifetime event that only happened after years of tolerance and self restraint and was genuinely done for the safety of another.
What makes this video interesting is that this court case doesn't actually function all too differently from a normal court case, the court receives a murder trial, and they reasoned that the defendant was or wasn't too dangerous to be left in society. The difference only really comes in at the very end, with the case involving the dog, which, while being funny, is actually a pretty clever way of delivering the real message of the video. That it truly doesn't matter what kind of legal system you put in place, those who are liked by the court will be favoured, and those who are disliked by the court will not. It reminds me of the guy who was accused of a crime years ago, where everyone involved in the investigation said he most likely did not commit it, but the man was executed regardless simply because some higher ups in the court refused to re-evaluate his case, meanwhile there are several rich people and members of the entertainment industry who are confirmed predators that are walking free entirely because of their connections. It's sad stuff
This is actually all very compelling arguments. Wow….
ОтветитьAbusive women often actively TRY to goad their (male) partners into retaliating or even just defending themselves from violence, and if their partner lays a finger on them that’s their easy out to prove they’re the victim and fuck up their partner’s life. It is SICKENINGLY frequent and just another reason the “but men are stronger” argument is BULLSHIT.
Ответитьi need a series out of that
ОтветитьI can't make out what the shelter person is saying? Could someone tell me?
ОтветитьUm . . . why is rescuing and returning a dog three times a bad thing? Isn't this something that should be encouraged?
ОтветитьAs a guy that experienced physical abuse from a girlfriends I felt the worst part was the phycological abuse. Her hitting me sucked but it was worse knowing I could have stopped her but I wasn't going to as I did not want to hurt her, and when I struggled to get away having her chase me down and make me feel like I had hurt her as I was trying to get away and making me feel like an abuser like her ex and her father.
Then later she is that sweet little angel I would die to protect up until she changes back and the cycle repeated.
not me getting hyped in a hypothetical debate 💀💀
ОтветитьIF the roles were reversed then yes i agree that the murder would've been accepted unfortunately people are stupid sometimes and don't seem to get that abuse can bith ways and it really doesnt matter the fudging gender.
ОтветитьSo, if you wanna go further into this line of thought.
There is a story on Webtoon called “Death: Rescheduled”
It’s about a world where everyone is allowed 1 free kill a year.
The circumstances of the kill doesn’t matter, or who you killed doesn’t matter at all.
Wanna kill a random child on the street in broad daylight?
Go ahead, no consequences. In fact no one will even blink an eye.
You just won’t be able to kill anyone else til next year.
As long as you report your free kill, which is called a Rescheduled death, no one will do anything.
The main characters in this story though, are against it and so they’re actively trying to end the kill law.
This is an amazing story, I 100% recommend.
Bro this made me so pissed off 🙃
Anyways, great skit. It showed a real life problem very well.
i was invested in that shit
ОтветитьIf i were the one saying that the first murder was fair, idk if i wouldn't still have those two as coworkers by the end of the video...
ОтветитьI hope you have a fantastic day
