Schloss Cecilienhof was the venue for the July 1945 Potsdam Conference. The participating parties were the Soviet Union, United Kingdom and the United States. The purpose of the conference was to settle matters relating to the post-war administration of Germany and other issues of mutual interest. The Soviet Union was represented by Joseph Stalin, the UK by Winston Churchill then later by Clement Attlee, and the US by Harry Truman.
