(Beth's mom) Usually this stuff is interesting but these "scandals" are either just nit-picking or there needs to be some context- the "Mathew Broderick killed 2 women" click-bait should actually say "In Ireland, he accidently drove in the wrong lane and caused a fatal accident". Have you EVER tried to drive the roads in ireland? I'm shocked that there aren't more fatal accidents there. The whole "Ben Affleck's ancestor was a slave owner 6 generations ago" thing? Whoop-di-doodah! In the late 1800's, dead of winter in the mid-west AND in the middle of a blizzard, one of my ancestors walked out of his house, set the barn on fire and then disappeared for good. The only reason I know about this is a genealogy done by my very status-concious paternal grandmother. I'm shocked she put that story in the book. That's got nothing to do with me in the 20th century. I'm more excited about the fact my cousin was Stephen Stucker, Johnny from the movie "Airplane" and he and I corresponded a bit in the mid-80's as he was dying from AIDS. Seriously, find some scandals that are actually under the radar scandals, not mostly 40-70 year old stuff that was reported on incessantly at the time.
