Good list! I'd replace the Koosh with Super Power Collection from kenner ;)
ОтветитьLike the carebears
ОтветитьAnd ofcourse TMNT
ОтветитьStar Wars figures are my favorite as well.
ОтветитьGrowing up on the 80s I was mainly into Transformers and some G.I. Joe, but I also collected some other figures. I love M.U.S.C.L.E. men, GoBots, ThunderCats, Bravestarr, Etc. The cool thing is I know a guy that sells a lot of 80s toys and he does trades. I've gotten several figures from him the past few years. Even got a Bravestarr/Tex Hex 2-pack mint in package. Even was able to get some Blackstar figures, if anybody remembers that cartoon.
ОтветитьAww, no MASK or Real Ghostbusters John?
ОтветитьI used to have boxes full of turtles as a kid. I wish I kept all my old toys.
ОтветитьThe Inhumanoids had a really impressive toyline. My big three had to be TMNT, He-Man, and GI Joe.
ОтветитьGood list. The 1980's was the best decade ever, and no it's not because I was born in it.
ОтветитьNo Lego? :-)
Ответитьi thought GI was General Infantry..
ОтветитьSome of my favorites not on the list:
Lego
Fisher Price's Little People
Lincoln Logs
Tinker Toys
Hot Wheels
Play Dough
Decade probably not right on all those, I don't know. I was born in '85.
Also loved the Forbidden Bridge board game. That's probably 90s and not a toy line, but it was still awesome. You ought to do a board game video.
"Let's go back!"
"No! Let's get the jewels."
I also agree with Pound Puppies. I loved my stuffed animals like they were pets.
ОтветитьHell yeah I'm a guy 33 now, and I had a Cabbage Patch Kid when i was about little, that had glasses on it, my mother got it for me so I would not keep throwing my glasses off my face, and she said it worked, so guess that was a good thing, I also had some of the Thunder Cats, HeMan, GI-Joe, Garbage Pal Kids cards, couple of ALF Dolls(still have my 2 ALF dolls that stay on my bed), Turtle figures where awesome, had some Ring Raiders stuff, and can't forget Micro Machines, and Penny Racers those where awesome!!!
Ответитьi would have to add hot wheels granted they were around since 1968 but 80's was a re-birth of the car line adding creature cars hi-rrrrakers (rear section popped up) real riders (first small like affordable cars with rubber tires) color-fx/color racers (cars changed colors in warm and cold water)
Ответитьmy fav toy line of the 80's was m.a.s.k. i had the toys and never missed a show it was a grea t cartoon
great topic sir
1) GI JOES
2) Ninja Turtles
3) Battle Beasts
4) M.U.S.C.L.E Men
5) He-Man
6) M.A.S.K
7) Transformers
8) SilverHawks
9) Thunder Cats
10) G.U.T.S
Pretty much was my childhood during the 80s.
The 80s were the best. Best movies. Best cartoons. Best music. Best toys. Best computers.
Then the 90s came along and ruined it all (except the SNES and Wayne's World.... but they're really children of the 80s).
Nobody is gonna mention dino riders? That was in the late 80s :-p
ОтветитьNobody is gonna mention dino riders? That was in the late 80s :-p
ОтветитьZOIDS...
ОтветитьIt's unforgivable that you failed to include MASK!
Anyway, my personal top 10, in no particular order. (No exaggeration, I had virtually every major toyline - and then some - from the 80's, so I am more than qualified to judge.)
MASK
Star Wars
Transformers
G.I. Joe
Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future
Masters of the Universe
Wheeled Warriors
Hot Wheels
Micro Machines
Starcom
My list looks a lot like yours, i would drop Cabbage Patch Kids, add Centurions, and move Ninja Turtles to #1. And remember Guts figures? I thought they were way better than Muscle, they had ninjas.
ОтветитьOH man. Muscle men. I had gallon zip lock bags full of these guys. One of those things that I didn't even realize other people had! Thanks for bringing them back :)

God I missed the 80's and 90's
ОтветитьWasnt Cabbage Patch Kids meant for girls? And Koposh balls, really?
ОтветитьRemember the 6 inch A-Team toy line? I loved how B.A. came with a tool box with tools in it! There was also a 3 3/4 inch line in the same style as the G.I. Joe figures.
ОтветитьKARATE FIGHTERS! AHH those muscle men toys, I had those back in the days
ОтветитьWhat about Vultron?
ОтветитьFor me it was The Real Ghostbusters, Pee-wee's Playhouse, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Food Fighters and the DC Super Heroes line (which became the Batman '89 toy line).
ОтветитьKush balls, great video man. Love the decade and all the great stuff that trickled into the 90's before it all dried up...
ОтветитьVery good list of toys. Out all these I especially love the vintage Thundercats toys. I take it you were never a fan of M.A.S.K? M.A.S.K was/is definitely my absolute favourite toy of the 1980's along with Star Wars.
