I watched Heretic today. It was fantastic. It is one that should be watched if you want something different, but also keeps you engaged 100%.
ОтветитьYea there's alot of great horror movies being made every year, can't wait to see this one 👍
ОтветитьOh this one is high on my list. Now I’m definitely going to see it.
ОтветитьThe bell’s been dung.😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьJust got out the theater and what a fucking journey! Just an incredibly philosophical Russian Doll mind fuck into the depths of ideology. As an atheist myself, but as someone who embraces the personal and cultural utility of religion, notwithstanding it does nothing for me, I respected how the movie treated me like an adult and didn’t spoon-feed any message like so much of today’s trash. The movie laid out its argument and you came away either hopeful or in despair!
ОтветитьI really liked the movie. The performances were great. Not for everyone which could be the big shift from dialogue tension to the gruesome moments towards the end.
ОтветитьHugh Grant looks so creepy in this, and I love it. Can't wait to see it.
ОтветитьTypical AS24 out there horror movie. It was average at best in my opinion. But then again im not a big fan of A 24
ОтветитьI like Haunt Mask's new home.
Ответитьgood video man. u do a great job of descriptions without giving things away. really excited to see this one.
ОтветитьI loveddddd this movie, genuinely made me think. I wish i could eat the cinematography with a spoon. The fact that the lead actresses are both former LDS adds a really interesting layer to their portrayl.
Spoilers-ish vvv
I totally thought this was gonna be a Cube/Saw/escape room type thing, based off the trailers, but it was sooooo much more. I cannot wait for it to come out to home video so i can dig into every frame 😅
It was good. Not very scary but i think it was more of a thriller
ОтветитьI think the horror is as good as it’s been my whole life, including 70’s, 80’s…
ОтветитьJust wanna say GPE, I love you
ОтветитьThank you from Australia's biggest.. BIIIIGGEST... FAN
ОтветитьAlready planned on seeing this one thanks horror 🐐
ОтветитьYeah I just think that if you're not a true horror fan you're not going to understand the different varying levels and genres of Horror
I mean there's not really varying levels of action movies and at today's era is so obsessed with the idea of horror being based in just Gore or dare I say torture horror
And not to mention today's generation has a very limited attention span😂
1st half was good, 2nd half not so much.
ОтветитьI was just thinking of looking for something to watch on this boring Sunday afternoon, couldn't think of anything off the top of my head and I hate scrolling through page after page of movies I've seen or have no interest in seeing for longer than it takes to watch a movie so I came to you.
From what I know of the trailer the Bridget Jones' Diary guy hates Mormons trying to peddle their crap on his doorstep so he screws with their heads and drives them insane or something. I don't really like Mormons preaching at me either, I can relate.
I think the people who say there’s no good horror are the same who say SNL was only good when belushi was in
it. They only say it because everyone else does and it’s BS
Ya!!!!!!!!! To A24 !!!!! I knew they had it in them. 🤣 🖤🖤👻🏴☠
ОтветитьSo far, Salems lot is by far my favorite this year. But I'll check this out 😂❤
ОтветитьExcellent film. Written strong and moves good. Top 10, maybe 5.
ОтветитьHugh Grant is surprisingly good. He isn't usually that disturbed. His spiels though are great. I could rewatch just for that alone.
ОтветитьTo your first bit horror is amazing right now. I love horror that isn't slap me in the face with jump scares and sex and curse words. Honestly that's why I loved PG13 horror because it actually had to be scary and it wasn't all in your face jumps. This movie was scary especially for people who are religious. This movie jabbed at every religion and made you think whether your religious or not. Even once they get to the door and the "miracle" as a religious person all of these questions have come into my head at one point in time. Like idk I just loved this shit to pieces 😂 also what happened at the end is not what I expected. And father whatever his name was made me want to head desk so hard. Grant was perfect. His entire being was camp happy and scary at the same time. Trust your gut over your head. You have intuition for a dang reason and the amount of people that ignore it 😅😅
ОтветитьYou are the best! I can’t wait to see this and A24 just filmed a new movie based on my favorite new horror author. Can’t wait to see it as well.
ОтветитьI saw this film Saturday and it was AMAZING! I absolutely loved this film, I wasn't really sure where it was going and Hugh Grant was at his finest. This film is one of the best of the year!
ОтветитьI just got home from seeing this then stopped by a nudey bar for a beer or three, hold up, it's 4:20 am...puff puff...ok, that's better, yeah, it's a good recommendation, not very gory but it's creepy and claustrophobic. Blueberry pie is perfect bait, I'd have gone for it, just not sure if I'd be down for living in a cage having my fingers cut off for no reason. That part is never explained, what happened to the cage people? Are they going to be a cult of killers in a sequel? I need to know.
ОтветитьI just watched this movie, and I can’t wait to watch it again.
ОтветитьJUST SAW IT WIFE AND I LOVED IT ❤
ОтветитьI haven't watched ANY reviews, and just are ONLY watching yours, today, one day before I'm going to this movie and SO looking forward to it! Minute I was able to get a ticket, I did for this, for Tomorrow showing. I don't know why, gut feeling, when I first saw this trailer in theater a few months back, I was SOLD then and there, that it looked like a top notch movie that I was sooooo gonna be going to. MAN, this makes me even MORE excited for this and I'm counting down the hours here. As I am listening, watching your review its making me even MORE pumped for this. You're AWESOME as usual and I can practically feel the energy just watching your review. :)
ОтветитьJust saw it today. Really enjoyed it. Saw it in Dolby.
ОтветитьHow did A24 possible afford Hugh grant for this movie you ask my theory Milton Bradley makers of monopoly game put up a cool 😎 half million for a free monopoly ad
ОтветитьJust saw Heretic on the weekend and loved it. Hugh Grant was a revelation. The two young women were also great, especially Sophie Thatcher, whom I first saw in Yellowjackets. And the discussions about the various world religions was fascinating. Terrific film.
ОтветитьThat's funny because the last movie I saw Hugh grant in he was a oompa loompa 😃😃😃
Ответить2025 year will have better movies.
Heretic ,it looks like every other dark movie, haven't seen it yet.
I found that the movie resembled the black phone only with girls
ОтветитьI don’t understand people who say there are no good horror movies anymore. I’m over sixty and I have to say it’s an embarrassment of riches when it comes to horror today. There is so much access to good horror, whether it’s big budget Hollywood films, independents or foreign films it isn’t even funny. When I grew up you had to go to the theater or wait until a movie came on the late show. Then came the video era when I saw all the films I only read about in magazines. Now we have streaming and I can’t even keep up with new content. It’s one of the reasons I watch this channel, so I can get recommendations. There’s things I prefer in movies from past eras but there is no way one can argue that we don’t live in an amazing time when it comes to horror movies.

I just got back from the theatre...
- Although all three lead roles do exceptionally well, it is Hugh Grant that absolutely steals the show...his performance and long monologues were delivered with aplomb.
- Being a self-proclaimed idiot when it comes to picking up on clues, I was pleased with my ability to pick up on many of the subtleties that permeate throughout. The movie is complex, but easy enough to make sense of its purpose.
- Heretic is certainly a slow burn, but the provocative nature of its core material is what makes this movie a really compelling watch.
...I even learned something which I never knew existed; a contraceptive implant!
Another great recommendation that got me out to the cinema and watch it on the big screen!
Hail 2024 and all of its great Horror-related movie releases!
Saw this movie two days ago and still thinking about it! More than makes up for The Front Room 😅 this has been such a great year for horror movies! 🔥
ОтветитьI have a few thoughts, and I’ll put a few spoilers farther down, so they don’t appear unbidden.
I’d seen a few reviews before yours was posted. They were “It’s talky and moves kind of slow but it’s still pretty good.” This was the first rave I think I’ve seen, and once again, I highly, Highly agree.
It is a real slow burn and there’s a lot of talking, but by the end, I felt like the proverbial frog in a pot of water. It’s not often that you find horror this well written and acted, thoughtful and horrifying, and while there’s no real ambiguity about the ending, there’s a dichotomy I found fascinating.
Full disclosure, I converted to the Church almost 11 years ago. I don’t speak for it, but I would like to talk about something I found fascinating about this movie and a couple of things I that might change the way you interpret this movie.
First, from a doctrinal perspective, BOTH were correct about the “true religion.” Religion IS about control. The difference is in WHO is being controlled. In his belief, it is about controlling others. In the Church, it’s about controlling ourselves. Free will and agency were a big factor in my conversion story. We will sometimes make good decisions and other times make bad decisions, but it’s US making the decision.
Second, one of the belief I struggled with at first was the concept of “pre-mortal life.” It seemed weird and uncomfortable to think we were elsewhere before this world, put here to learn how to get back to where we started. But then the concept of simulation theory…er…HYPOTHESIS…started gaining ground. Are we living in a simulation? It seems a growing number of science are beginning to believe so. Wouldn’t the person who created that simulation (The Great Programmer?) be a deity? At least from the perspective of the people inside?
It would base be the Sims, but on a much lower scale and lacking free will.
I’m not trying to preach, but I think it adds a different context that makes the move that much more interesting.
Anyway, if you made the this far, thanks for listening. I hope it gives something to think about!
Horror is the besttttt ❤❤❤
ОтветитьWe are currently in a horror movie renaissance and I'm SO HAPPY that, of all dead movie genres, horror is alive and thriving!
ОтветитьCan’t wait to see it
