I just saw an alligator snapping in Orlando

I'm in southern Minnesota and we have lots of snapping turtles. I found 2 babies on the road this spring, and I got em of the road and put em by the river by my place. I saw a huge adult by the side of the road few weeks ago trying to cross.

Thanks, cool video. I helped to rescue a snapping turtle from a highway over Memorial day. Traffic was stopped because a turtle was blocking the road. The first motorists to stop seemed to be convinced it was headed uphill from the Croton Reservoir. After a brief attempt to herd it failed, I asked a gal with a stout stick to get its attention, so I could grab it from behind. I managed to grab the edges of the carapace just forward of the rear limbs. He/she turned back to aggressively face us after being deposited in the roadside ditch. Maybe a female about to lay eggs??

I had an alligator snapper for years. Never once tried to bite me. One of the best pet reptiles out there! If you’ve got a pond (be prepared, these guys get BIG), you can easily raise them up until they’re big enough that they need it.

imagine being the regular snapping turtle, you're a big badass turtle with cool spiky limbs, you barely even need a shell for protection so your huge flab hangs out, and you're super aggressive.. but there's still a cooler version of you with way more spikes and a cooler head. and he just sits there yawning all the time, doesn't even snap at people, just waits for a fish to swim into its mouth.. and everyone likes that one more.

I remember as a kid my uncle pulling a MONSTER snapping turtle out of a local pond. From head to butt, that things was over 4 feet. And there was another 2 feet of tail.
