"Is he the chosen one?"
"Yes."
"Bummer. Never turns out well for those guys."
“Look what I have risen above” Obi wan nailed it! If anyone in the galaxy has the right to be consumed and fuel by rage it’s him! His master and lover were murdered by none other than maul himself, his apprentice and best friend turned to the darkside and destroyed the order that he dedicated his life to then tried to kill him. Yet despite all that he is at peace and has a purpose in watching over luke.
Ответить"See you soon, apprentice". He's either mocking maul and Ezra here, or he still actually believes he has a shot at making Ezra his apprentice lol😂
ОтветитьIts not clear how Obi-Wan killed him. It looks like he didnt even touch him at all
Ответитьis no one going to mention how Maul died in Kenobi's arms like Qui-gon and Satine did, both whom were killed by Maul himself?
ОтветитьOld wounds. Same rivalry. These 2 had such history.
ОтветитьMaul: why you come to this place? Not simply to hide. Oh, you have a purpose here. Perhaps you are protecting something? No, protecting someone.
ОтветитьOhh omg sad obi wan maul death
ОтветитьWhen does the duel take place.
ОтветитьOhh
ОтветитьMaul was lied to by Sidious. And then he became consumed by hatred. Obi-wan did make it right. He forgave Maul. That is NOT the dark side.
ОтветитьThis, Mandalorian, and Rouge one are the only canonical events Disney has made.
Every thing else is crap and isn’t canon.
If you didn't notice, Maul intends to kill Obi-Wan the same technique that he used to kill Qui-Gon: hit the enemy in the face with the hilt then turn for a perfect stab, but this time Obi-Wan manages to counter it.
About Obi-Wan, at first he does the Form 3 Soresu stance, his main style (one hand holds the lightsaber, the other hand points 2 fingers at enemy), then he changes to Form 4 Ataru stance (hold the lightsaber with both hands, raise the blade to head height ), which is used by his master before, and eventually defeats Maul with that style.
The style that used by someone Maul killed now comes back to kill him. And Obi-Wan even learned from his master's mistake
i always loved the thin sabers in rebels
Ответитьi think obiwan is so compassionate towards maul because he realizes he was just a pawn for Sidious and a victim like everyone else in the clonewars.
ОтветитьBig fan of Clone Wars. Rebels was a big step backwards in story, vid quality, and unlikeable characters. However, By far, this is the best scene. At first, I was thinking “that was a quick fight”, but if you go into the history (I.e. how Maul killed Quigon in front of Obi-Wan), and Obi-Wan probably thought/meditated for years thinking about how to defeat Maul, and notice how Obi-Wan changed stances (Maul did, to his detriment) right before the fight… then it’s actually brilliant.
ОтветитьThis is such a beautiful final moment of intimacy between two lifelong enemies. They've each taken several of the most important things the other lost, and been mortal enemies for most of their lives. And at the end of it all, Obi Wan is the one who holds Maul as he dies, makes sure he doesn't die alone and gives him final solace. It's so good
ОтветитьWhen Maul asks “is he the chosen one”, is he referring to Vader or the one Obi Wan is protecting (Luke)?
ОтветитьIn a way, this fight always made me think of the end of Kill Bill, where after this huge build up the fight is over in seconds. But whilst in that I was immensely disappointed, here it works very well. But even after rewatching it I still can't see him actually hit Maul, it just lookes like two blocks and a strikedown on his saber.
ОтветитьMan he tried so hard to get Obi-wan like he did with Qui-gon...
ОтветитьNotice the word choice by Maul in the end. “He will avenge us.”
Avenge usually has a more heroic and good connotation than revenge does despite meaning basically the same thing, and that is already interesting. However, that’s not the important bit.
He uses the word “us.” Not “me” or “my brother” or “the Jedi” or “you.” Us. He has finally realized that despite the huge rivalry that Maul and Kenobi had, they were, in the end, puppets of Sidious’s machinations just like everyone else. They lived as rivals and bitter enemies, but died as brothers.
It's a shame Maul was 'False Trusted' by Palpatine to become what he became in the long run!
ОтветитьLow diff lol
ОтветитьMy god, that cello.
ОтветитьThis scene was completely dialogue focused and very realistic and I love it for that
ОтветитьWhen i first saw this scene i was disappointed at first. But now this scene is really one of my favorites of star wars as a whole.
ОтветитьI love how tense the buildup for this fight was.
ОтветитьSuch a somber episode😢
ОтветитьA rematch that fans had been waiting years for, And it lasted 3 seconds.
ОтветитьI still have no idea.. if obiwan was trashtalking or giving him words of wisdom..🤣🤣
Was he saying maul wont kill him here and there or killing sucks.. hahahaha
Maul realized all too late as the Sith tend to do, that this is not some broken down old man hiding in the back end of the galaxy but a sentinel, watching over the most sacred outpost in the universe,
ОтветитьI watched it in slow mo & WOW it's the same move he killed QuiGonn with.
ОтветитьObi wan should have cut him vertical this time instead of horizontal
ОтветитьIts all lead here for them both, for one reason or another
Face to face under the stars in the waving fire. Fueld by what they believe in most, one with rage, and one with hope. Colliding like the old days for one last attempt, one last "who will come out on top". Stancing up with the forms weve always taken. Only this time its different, its not then, it doesn't have to be.
Maul hasnt changed much. Fueld by his rage, his hate, his desire to take and prove he can do so even after all these years he takes up a stance he hasnt used in a long while, the very one that was used to take down qui-Gon Jinn, showing he hasnt learned from his previous failures
Now Kenobi? Oh hes learned, hes grown from it all, hes changed like a rock in a desert, sands slowly chipping away at it, forever changing it. He takes up his old masters stance, showing he learned from his previous experiences and where his master failed, and that he still has something to lose
They clash, finally resolving a decades old rivalry. Maul finally gets taken down. They console in each other despite being age old enemies. "He will avenge us" not "he will get revenge " not even "avenge me" but "us"
Since maul died, he was basically the last zabrak from dathomir to die.
Now he joins savage opress and mother talzin
I thought obi wan was dead
ОтветитьThe best of frenemies.
ОтветитьBaited
ОтветитьI do wish the night sky was more detailed in this scene
ОтветитьNow here we got told that Luke is the chosen one and not Anakin! This makes more sense as Anakin went worse and become Darth VAder while Luke turned his father back to the light side and brought balance to the galaxies!
ОтветитьObi Wan learned from his Master's mistake. He lured Darth Maul to do the same moves he did against Qui Gon and waited for the precise moment to counter it with a deadly blow. Maul stayed the same. What a sad fate for him.
ОтветитьThis is one of my favorite lightsaber fights of all time. It’s two skilled and experienced warriors sizing each other up, looking for any weakness and then striking when the opportunity arises. Just as soon as the fight starts, it ends decisively
ОтветитьStupid Maul was killing so easily here
ОтветитьThis is imo one of the best scenes in any SW property or media.
ОтветитьI like to think that this moment truly left Obi wan with nothing left. He lost the woman he loved, Anakin, the jedi order and all his friends, and now his rival
Ответитьwhere the fuck is the north
Ответить
