In this episode, I visit the old grounds of Sportsman's Park, which is now the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club.

Sportsman's Park, as it was called from 1901 to 1952, was the site of where the two Major League St. Louis ball clubs played. The St. Louis Browns played here from 1902 to 1953, and the Cardinals would begin here in 1920. After Anheuser-Busch bought the Cardinals, it was renamed Busch Stadium.

By the mid-1960s, a new home for the Cardinals was being built in downtown St. Louis - Busch Memorial Stadium. Augustus "Gussie" Busch donated the old ballpark land to the Boys & Girls Club, which has made their home at the present location since the 1960s.

This is a revision of a video that I originally put out in early 2021.

I really like the updated video, I was the one who brought it to your attention and you handled very well. You're right the sign is very misleading to those that read it. Love your videos

Actually more games have now been played at Fenway Park and Wrigley Field. And it is not the oldest ballpark in America like the marker says.
