Great movie. The freshness and empathic Jacob contrats really well with the selfish Draverhaven. I like this depiction much more than that of Star Wars with Luke and Dartvader; Star Wars is way too cooked and too canned for my taste.

Fedja van Huêt (Jacob Katadreuffe) was 24 when this was released. He's been having a great career ever since, starring in two television series. This won the Best Foreign Film Oscar. Jan Decleir (Dreverhaven) also starred in Antonia's Line (1995) which also won that award. Most scenes were shot in Poland and Antwerp, Belgium not Rotterdam.

Dreverhaven was always guilt for wat he done to his wife and kid,he wants his son to be a man of his own.very good flim.
