Nice vid! Thanks
Someone should knock out whoever started playing music like that in the background. 😬
The Karate I remember when I was a kid ! 👍😎❤️
It’s really sad seeing what karate used to be and what it has become. Now nobody has respect for this art.
These are not best knockouts, they are uncontrolled attacks, not allowed in Karate. Should be mostly disqualifications..
Number 29...was that a tooth flying across the mat, wtf!!!
The third one is just cowardliness, he was already disarm and unwilling to fight
Old outdated in the modern world. Great for strenght but cmon guys, all of these fighters get slept in under 1 minute in todays combat sports
Why karate is not a popular show sport? Because it is ending too fast. No time for fun.
Ответитьcut with gyaku zuki more effective
The key to Shotokan karate is to control your punches and kicks so as not to injure fellow karateka opponents during the Kumite championship, so you can still show speed, violence and BEAUTY.
Sports karate makes true karate bad, this is true karate
Hitting the head is by itself against the rule, so these weren't knock outs
None of them have got any kind of guard up this is ridiculous
This is the karate I remember.....now I dont even watch it anymore. In my mind there are three main reasons for the decay - money, the breakup of JKA when Nakayama passed away and the change in the rules to what it is today. There was a time when you reasonably accurate guess what grade a karateka is. As time moved on I would sit in on the grading panel and see a person get a higher grade but there was no improvement in technique or standard.
Shotokan - rules are basically don't injure, not don't hurt - you can belt someone more or less full power to the body but not to the head. All these guys would have been disqualified.
This is REAL KARATE 🥋👊
I miss some fight of Kokobun...they are much better like some of these😮
The philosophy behind JKA Shotokan is that 1 single technique delivered correctly should be enough to finish the fight.
[it is the same philosophy when using the Japanese sword, 1 cut is enough to defeat you opponent]
This video demonstrates that philosophy well.
[you can throw as many weak techniques at me as you like, I only need to hit you with just the 1]
Where’s the karate? Bunch of lucky shot punches to the head.
Half of these aren't knockouts ...
29 I saw his teeth flying out
That guys tooth flying on the second knockout?
This was/is exactly the problem with this Bullshite ‘ no face contact’ competition 😡. Rubbish control, and more often than not a bullying tactic by many competitors. Guarantee if most of these ‘knockout artists’ tried their hand at full contact they would get their arses whooped.
Sahasrara Mantra Vum.
Who is the guy from K.O. number 11 and 12?
Shotokan should have a full contact tournament
So many people have the preconceived notion that if your a black belt you should be able to beat anyone when in fact getting your black belt is like standing at the bottom of Mt Everest before you begin the accent. At first Don you now have the skills and tools you need to start the up hill journey to real perfection. Very few make it to the top of the mountain. (10th Don) 1st degree black belt isn’t the end just the beginning. OSS
These men cannot fight
Damn thanks for the slow mo, really highlights the precision and speed. One can see this as merely a brawl or a cockfight with no technique at first glance, but in reality all the fighters have spent endless hours training and honing their skills, techniques and precision. Just like a sword duel ends in an instant, so it is with true karate. Your video is a great homage to karate and martial arts.
It can be more effective when adding proper guard and head movement. Going straight into the pocket with the hands down and chin up is just an invitation to koed.
Ответитьwas full contact allowed on this matches?...in some tournaments you got disqualified for excess of contact.
When shotokan karate kumite was to knockouts? Always was for points, light contact
It's obvious these fights stem from another era...Full contact involving full risk of K.O. requiring willpower and fearlessness from these men.
Regardless if the videos are old or new, it still shows that you can knock someone out with a single punch through shotokan. Course shotokan ain't the only approach because you have boxing, kickboxing and muay thai who have the same idea.
Shame that shotokan has become bullshit now
In the old days there was no disqualification for excessive contact. On the contrary you could loose a point for not protecting yourself adequately!
Why the emphasis on rear heel down in Shotokan basics, especially oizuki and gyakuzuki, when successful techniques in actual kumite almost never demonstrate this maxim in action? Can you identify a single one in this highlight reel? It seems that oikomi trumps consistently ground connection in real time.
I wish that all forms of karate stayed full contact or atleast there was still full contact tournaments for traditional styles.
Full contact shotokan would have the strongest punches, full contact shito ryu would be the fastest karate.
I miss this kind of Karate, don't give up on real karate.
