Ответитьooh! You should do the story of Rodin's statue of Balzac! it was commissioned by Emile Zola, took Rodin years to finish, he was so late that it somehow led to political scandal- and his first choice was to present Balzac stark naked! The finished work is draped with a long coat, a much safer choice!

ОтветитьI love the blouse you wearing in this video. Where can I buy it?
ОтветитьGoya's paintings he did on his walls are pretty interesting. He became deaf and with the stress on the peninsular wars and civil wars and such he basically went crazy cooped up in his house. There, he did disturbing paintings like Saturn devouring his son.
ОтветитьHere's one that might be interesting. The painter Van Gogh had been taking digoxin (foxglove) for his seizures. One of the long-term side effects of digoxin is that it affects people's vision and make their view of the world somewhat yellow. It's like walking around with yellow-tinted glasses. Some doctors and historians (and medical historians) believe that this side effect would explain why Van Gogh's paintings became more and more yellow-dominant as the years go on. It's not an artistic style, it's because that was what he saw.

ОтветитьThere really should've been a movie about WWI in the '90s with Tim Curry playing all three cousins/monarchs (George V, Bill II, and Nick II were pretty much identical, with only slight differences in facial hair. There are photos from before The War with them wearing each other's uniforms, and you wouldn't know which was which if there wasn't a caption.)

Re the Royal Family's finances, the government takes hundreds of millions in revenue from the Crown Estates in exchange for a much smaller stipend, as per an agreement that's been renewed by every monarch since George III. While it's not strictly tax it's much more than anyone else contributes.
ОтветитьMy wife and daughter are somewhere in line. They are part of the Oldaker line
ОтветитьI think a fender smith might be the person who maintains and repairs the fireplace fenders, which looks like a low "fence" around a fireplace hearth.
ОтветитьYou’re stating a fact, as simple as that. Stop saying actually over and over.
