The terror by dan simons is my favorite horror book
ОтветитьHave ever read American psycho by Bret Easton Ellis?
ОтветитьYou were not wrong with The troop. I don't dream about the books I read typically, nor do they make me have any real reactions but that was an exception. I hate worms now. When I started it I didn't get what people found so gross and it just got worse and worse to the point i had a dream about worms the second day of reading it 🤮
My best friends exorcism was so good! Hendrix wrote the friendship between Gretchen and the main charachter so well! It got way more creepy then I thought it would considering the relatively light tone at the start of the book.
I read The exorcist and Psycho when I was much younger. Probably too young and I always feel so nostalgic about them. They are great books!
I will check out cujo, Christine and brother. I have just started The winter people ( great rec so far)
I finished reading boy parts last night, you should check it out. I went into it just expecting a kinky time ( the main charachter is a fetish photographer) but what was delivered was way darker. She was such a dick but I actually enjoyed reading about her. Trigger warnings for a bunch of stuff though if you need to check them out first.
I love Misery, but I agree with you, I do not need to read the book that Annie is forcing Paul Sheldon to write lol
ОтветитьI love The Troop!!!!! It’s weirdly a lovely story about friendship. I have to check out Brother! I just read such a cool & original horror book: The Cipher by Kathe Koja! It’s bizarre & written so uniquely—-and has awesome body horror vibes! Check it out now that it’s back in publication:)
ОтветитьDid you ever read Legion!? I'm doing a book review on The Exorcist and Legion soon and Legion shocked me a good bit. Would love to hear your thoughts on it! 🖤
ОтветитьI read both The Amityville Horror and Pet Sematary when I was in junior high... it's been a while... They scared me back then and I loved every minute of it!
Pet Sematary was my first Stephen King book and I've been hooked on his books ever since.
Thanks you so much for all the recommendations. I discovered your channel last month when you did a an excellent review on Billy Summers.
ОтветитьI love your videos. I’ve watched this one more than once. I do think I would like to come across certain details in the book myself, rather than hear it ahead of time. Example being, when I go to read “my best friends exorcism” and I come across “the bully”, I will be thinking, oh she’s going to get a tape worm and a dog is going to rip it out of her mouth. It may not be a spoiler in regard to the plot, but it will take away from experiencing it in the moment. Hopefully I didn’t come off as a Karen, either way, I subscribed and look forward to your future content.
ОтветитьSolid recommendations! I have read all of these except Christine and The Amityville Horror (which I'm definitely going to read one day).
Here are my ratings:
Misery: 5 stars
Cujo: 5 stars
Brother: 5 stars
Psycho: 4 stars
My Best Friend's Exorcism: 4 stars
The Troop: 4 stars
Sour Candy: 4 stars
The Exorcist: 3 stars
So I loved all of them except The Exorcist. Unfortunately I was really disappointed by it. I thought it dragged a lot and I feel like there were few scenes with Regan, which were the interesting ones in my opinion.
